A little bit about me

I have over 10 years of experience. I currently nanny for a 10 year old, I have been with her for 3 years. My availability is Monday, Tuesday and every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday all day. Wednesdays and Thursdays I am available during the morning/afternoon. I was previously working at a Child Development Center, working with infants 9 to 18 months. I had been at this center for 2 years and I was previously at First Presbyterian Preschool for 10 years where I worked as a lead teacher, in the classroom I was solely responsible to manage a class of 16 toddlers as well as two assistant teachers that are assigned to me. My role as lead teacher includes, writing weekly lesson plans and newsletters, conducting student evaluations and annual parent-teacher conferences. I manage and post daily schedules as well as insure that my classroom is safe and meets developmental needs of the students. I am certified to teach 3 to 5 years.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

This summer I had the opportunity to work in an administrative role at a local child development center while also working my full time nanny position. I enjoyed building relationships with families and having the opportunity to grow in this experience. I was able to get out of my comfort zone and be an asset to the team. Working with teachers, training them in areas of child development and working in the classrooms with the children, insuring that the child-teacher relationships are built on a strong foundation.

I am a child at heart, I enjoy getting on the child’s level and doing child lead learning through play. It is the best part of my day when I can make a difference in the life of a child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when the little girl that I care for asked me to play hair salon with her. She did a wild hairstyle on my hair with lots of bows. I left it in my hair the whole day and she was so happy. I love that children accept you for who you are and let you be your true silly self.
