A little bit about me

Hello my name is Elizabeth, but please call me Liz. I have experience babysitting/nannying a special needs 9 yr old boy who had severe autism. I was 20 at the time, and that was for a little less than a year. After I had moved from California to Nevada I had started to babysit/nanny for a little boy who was 3 yrs old a very sweet, and energetic little boy. that was when I was 24 and now I’m 36 of course there also was a job where I babysat for a 3 month old and his 8 year old older brother. I was 34-35 when I did that job. I do have two kids ages 11 and 7 so yes I do have personal experience with babies., toddlers, and school age children. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat an autistic boy when I was 20 in my hometown of San Francisco while I was still living in San Francisco. I then babysat when I was 24 for a 3 year old boy in Reno. Both jobs lasted me 6 months a piece possibly longer than that for the 3 year old boy. I also have two children of my own a nine year old girl, and a five year old boy so I do have experience with babies, toddlers, and school age kids as well as preschoolers since my son went to preschool.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing any type of board games like sorry!, monopoly, battleship, candyland, chutes and ladders. I also love going outdoors, and playing horseshoe, tether ball, possible kickball, and I love playing twister as well too. I am a big fan of hide and seek, and tag as well too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The positivity of caring for a child that is not mine is the most important part of being a nanny in my eyes. I get to spend time with a child that could possibly benefit by being around someone other than family. I also think the bonding is important for the child or children as well too. The other most important part is that you are leaving the child with the parents happier than before you came into the home to start your shift.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for one 9 year old autistic boy that was on the severe spectrum of autism. He was not able to talk only make noises, and point to what he wanted. His name was Noah.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most memorable, and adorable moment I had was when Noah had fallen asleep in the fetal position on his bed since it’s the most comfortable position for him to remind himself what he felt like inside of his mother.
