A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Ella Gildea, and I recently graduated from Rollins College (May 2026) with a degree in Sociology and coursework in Childhood Psychology. While at Rollins, I worked with the Hume House Child Development & Student Research Center, where I partnered with a child to create and write a children's book, gaining valuable insight into child development, learning, and communication.

I have several years of childcare experience, including regular babysitting for multiple families throughout college and during summers in Massachusetts. My experience includes school pickups, transportation to activities, overnight care, homework help, and maintaining daily routines. I also worked at a yacht club camp supervising children's sailing, swimming, and tennis activities.

I am a non smoker with a clean driving record and a small SUV. Relocating to West Palm Beach this August, I am excited to find a full time nanny position with a family I can support for the long term.

Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, reading, outdoor adventures, imaginative play, and really anything with no screen time. I think it is so important for kids to spend time outdoors.
My goal is to create engaging, age appropriate experiences that are both fun and enriching while helping children build confidence, curiosity, and independence.

The most important part of being a nanny is recognizing the incredible trust that parents place in you when they leave their children in your care. I view that trust as both a tremendous responsibility and an honor, and it is something I never take lightly. I believe a nanny's role is to support and honor the values, routines, and wishes of each family while helping children grow into confident, kind, and capable individuals. My goal is to be a safe, dependable presence in a child's life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

In college, I babysat for my neighbors' 3-year-old son, and our apartment's fire alarm went off one night during bath time. Within five minutes, I had the boy dressed and dried, his dog leashed, my dog leashed, and I ran down seven flights of stairs with him on my hip and the dogs in my hand. He was really scared, but I kept it light and calm, and the next day he told his mom he wanted the fire alarm to go off again because it was so fun.
