I have over 5 years of professional experience in childcare, working in a variety of settings including licensed daycare centers, in-home care services, and licensed drop-off childcare facilities. This diverse background has given me the opportunity to care for children of all ages, manage group and individual care routines, and support children's developmental needs in both structured and flexible environments. My experience has helped me develop strong skills in communication, behavior management, and activity planning, all while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging atmosphere for every child in my care.

I love engaging children in activities that support their creativity, curiosity, and development. Some of my favorite things to do include reading and introducing age-appropriate literature to help foster a love for books and language. I also enjoy exploring arts and crafts, making music, and encouraging self-expression through creative play. Spending time outdoors is another important part of my caregiving approach—I believe fresh air, physical activity, and nature-based exploration are essential to a child’s well-being and growth.

One of my favorite moments in childcare has been watching the children in my care reach major developmental milestones—especially helping them take their first steps and begin using their first words. There’s something incredibly rewarding about supporting a child as they find the confidence to stand and walk for the first time, or seeing the joy on their face when they successfully express themselves through language. Being a part of those small but significant moments reminds me how meaningful and impactful this work truly is.

Hello! My name is Lexis and I am a sophomore at Western Michigan University. As a little bit of background on me, I have been a competitive dancer since 1st grade. In college, I joined the Western Michigan Dance Team, but with Covid, dance team does not look like it will occur! With doing dance over the years, I have had the opportunity to assist and teach little kids, which has helped with my overall nanny abilities.
