Hello, my name is Elvira (El-Veer-ra). I have been working with children all my life. I grew up with a lot of siblings that I had to take care of. Throughout my school years, I've always took care of someone, whether that was a foreign exchange student or younger students. I want to become an elementary school teacher. I am working on that and have completed some practicum hours, meaning I worked with a class filled with students. I have also worked with children in preschool as lead teacher (in less than 5 months). I have all my certifications except MAT. In which I hope to be certified in.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Practicum student, babysitter of a family friend, neighbor, a daycare provider in a facility, and a preschool lead teacher to toddlers but also some experience with school ages, and ages 2-4.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Walking, playing soccer, tag, being creative and making up a game or even allowing the child to create their own game. I love doing crafts with kids; many have enjoyed finger painting crafts. Puzzles are great and anything art related. I love to read and I would encourage it. And listening to fun and/or educational music.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is safety, making memories, and making healthy, happy choices that they may pick up on.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with autism and severe ADHD and ADD. It was challenging but understanding, being patient, and observing are great skills to have when taking care of special needs children. My experience was not always good or bad. Everyday is different.
