More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Since I was in high-school, I have volunteered. I was in "Interact Club", which is sponsored by the Rotary Club and have had the opportunity to be a "Big Sister" type to young girls, participating in arts and craft, reading, shirt designs, leadership activities.

During my time in Flagstaff, AZ I volunteered at the Family Food Center which provided food to anyone in need. Part of this group included children, who would consistently come to eat after school. There was a child reading room that included a reading corner with a full and diverse shelf of books. Children would be allowed to go into the Reading room after eating and after 15 minutes of reading any book of their choosing.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything that stimulates the mind in terms of creativity!

Painting, singing, story-telling, playing dress-up/play time. I like being able to teach children emotional intelligence (things such as consideration, manners, expressing feelings with words).

Ideally, something that is safe and mentally stimulating for the child. I love going on adventures with children- everything is an adventure with the little ones, isn't it? :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing a safe space for children (physically and emotionally).

I think that validating a child's experiences are important and allowing children to express themselves creativity is crucial to a healthy development.

I believe it is important for a nanny to provide mental stimulation/physical activity/dietary nutrition are very important as well.

A consistent schedule and an organized area are important too, as it ensures a child to help an expected idea of the environment they can expect to operate in.
