To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship based on trust, safety, and consistency. Children thrive when they feel supported and cared for, and I believe a nanny should be a positive role model who helps children learn, grow, and feel confident while also supporting the family’s values and routines.

My experience with special needs children...

While volunteering at a local fire department, I had the opportunity to give a one-on-one tour to a young boy with special needs and help make the experience enjoyable and comfortable for him. I have also worked with children with autism in daycare settings and learned the importance of patience, communication, consistency, and adapting activities to meet each child’s individual needs. While I am always learning, these experiences have helped me become a more understanding and supportive caregiver.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite childcare memories was helping a preschooler who was very shy and hesitant to participate in group activities. Over time, we worked together on small goals like joining games, raising their hand during circle time, and sharing their artwork with friends. One day, they proudly stood up in front of the class to show everyone a craft they had made and couldn’t stop smiling afterward. Seeing their confidence grow and knowing I played a small role in helping them feel comfortable and successful was incredibly rewarding.
