I used to babysit and take care of my younger brothers growing up: feeding them their bottles, changing them, etc. I also began to babysit my younger cousins from [phone number hidden] ages 5 and 7, who are both on the spectrum. I then dedicated 3 years to my local Boy's and Girl's Club where I provided children of all ages assistance with their educational needs as well as unlimited emotional support in attempt of giving them a loving and safe environment.

Four out of five of my uncle's kids are on the spectrum. He and his wife tend to lack the patience that is required to take care of children with autism, thus i often volunteered to look after them for various hours of the day. My cousin Harley is now 6 but was diagnosed at 5 years old with level 3 autism. Most of my family finds her presence irrelevant but i try to take the time to understand her and show her the love she lacks.
