A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Emery! I started working with kids as a mother’s helper at age 12, caring for a 2-year-old. Since then, I have babysat children ranging in age from 6 months to pre-teen for various families. Over the past eight years, I’ve gained experience caring for up to four children at once and creating age-appropriate environments tailored to each child's needs. Additionally, for the past three years, I have coached tennis for kids ages 4 to 15, which has helped me develop stronger communication and problem-solving skills when working with children. I love watching and encouraging kids' growth and take pride in providing a safe space where children of all ages are cared for with kindness, reliability, and love.
I am an incoming Junior at the University of Oregon, majoring in Family and Human Services with minors in Spanish and Global Studies. I will be in Eugene from early September through the school year and am looking for a family to connect with!

"Emery has worked with us for many years off and on. She is a great babysitter! Very responsible and trustworthy but also fun and engaging. My son loves playing Uno with Emery as well as building LEGO and setting up battles with his "army guys." She is also great at getting him outside and once drew a super long hopscotch in our driveway that he still talks about. They also watch movies together and she stays engaged with him. I have actually known Emery since she was about nine years old (maybe younger?) and she's always been a great kid. It's been a pleasure to keep in touch with her even when she is away at college or not in our area. Any time she is back in the area we schedule time for her to hang out with my son - who actually doesn't need a babysitter anymore but just considers her a family friend at this point. I am happy to give Emery a glowing review and I know she has extensive experience with babies and toddlers as well."
