The most important part about being a nanny...
Not a whole lot of people I feel put their whole heart into childcare, but I feel that that is the most important part. I show the kids I watch all of the care a mother would, and I wouldn’t strive for anything less because I form an emotional bond with the kids I care for.
My experience with special needs children...
I have taught, babysat, and/or been the older sister of children with PTSD, autism, ADHD, Anxiety, and anger issues. I myself am “high functioning” autistic (although I hate that label myself) and have anxiety.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Not from nannying, but one of my favourite memories from teaching is getting to play with the kids on this large mattress-like pad (the type you’d jump off of something onto) that we called a trampoline on our playground. We’d play ring-a-round-the-rosy and I’d fall down dramatically multiple times to make them giggle, and I’d gently flip them on their backs and they’d giggle so loud, and it’s one of my fondest memories.
