More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am the oldest of six, I started babysitting as an early teenager, and moved to working as an assistant teacher at a daycare all through college. I have long term nannied for two families, I did my student teaching in a Kindergarten class, long term substituted in a second grade class and am currently teaching Pre-K at an elementary school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love baking, reading, walks to the park and learning games! I try my best to foster a love for learning through age appropriate activities and games.

The relationship you build with the kid(s).
You need to be another adult they trust and feel comfortable asking for help. You are one of the people in their lives that needs to help them reach their developmental milestones and communicate what they are feeling while having fun and making them smile.

I have worked with a lot of children on the autism spectrum.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I started to nanny for a very shy two year old and after several months of getting to know each other better and gain his trust and confidence he ran up to me as I was coming out of the bathroom and wrapped his arms around my legs and screamed "I just love you!" and it brought tears to my eyes!!
