My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children (2yrs-4yrs) old that were in the middle of being diagnosed on the autism spectrum. We learned how to effectively have 1on1 moments , implement independence building, communication and fostering relationships with their classmates. I have also worked with infants dealing with special health complications such as administering medicine while attending day-care, needing to wear shaping helmets, using medical devices and tools.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I worked with my little friend who was just turning 2 to get our alphabet DOWN! making fun songs , games, and arts and crafts all about it… while we were at a bit of a stand still he was able to point to my band-tee and tell me every letter!
