A little bit about me

Hi there, my name is Emily Bickford. I am 35 years old. I have worked with children since I was 14. For the past three years, I have nannied for different families with infant’s until they sent the child to daycare for socialization. I have helped families from different backgrounds and ethnicities. Working with nutrition and potty training. Helping clean and maintain the house. Cooking meals for families; as well as take care of their animals and gardens!

I have three nieces under the age of 7; I adore and see them almost every week. My family has always been very close growing up and we all still get together regularly.

I have a Bachelor's degree in community health sciences, 2013. I received 3 ECE credits as well in 2014.

I enjoy hiking, swimming, and snowboarding. I like playing outside with my dogs and with my nieces. I love teaching children new skills and giving them the confidence to succeed.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience working as a paraprofessional for children in schools. I have 3 ECE credits and have worked in 3 daycares with children ages infant to 5. I helped coach field hockey to 3-6th graders one fall. During college, I worked as a summer camp counselor and then after college, I worked as a camp supervisor and director. I have experience nannying for children ranging from infants to 12 years of age. I worked at a treatment center helping teenagers with anxiety, OCD, and depression. I have also babysat children through out the years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy singing, dancing, reading books to kids, and allowing them to read to me. Coloring and art projects, baking, making forts, etc.
Being outside is my favorite! I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, sledding, swimming, soccer, baseball, biking, walking, playgrounds, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny means the family is trusting me to keep their child safe. I always keep the family updated throughout the day with what is going on. I work with the family's schedule to make sure all needs are met and help out with extra cleaning or animal care if need be.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping the child achieve big milestones like getting his first tooth, rolling over, crawling, walking, etc. One specific moment was when I bought the child a book for Halloween and it was a cute interactive book that made the child laugh every time we read it!
