Hello!
My name is Emily and I’m 25 years old. I am currently attending school online towards becoming a nurse, specifically I am going for pediatric nursing. I am BLS certified, I have fingerprint background check. I have taken American Sign Language I&II and have achieved semi-fluency, and have taken beginner Spanish. I have 5 years of live-in nanny experience with a private family. I also have multiple years of babysitting experience throughout high school, and I’ve also been a pre-school assistant teacher. I’m incredibly passionate about children and childcare especially because well, they’ll be adults one day! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a daycare that was attached to my high school for 2 years, I have 5 years of previous nanny experience for 3 children (3 mons-12yrs old), I also have experience working with special needs children, medical conditions (diabetes, heart problems, deaf, blind, asthma, etc) I’m a pre-nursing student (online), BLS certified, fluent in sign language, learning Spanish, and I’m also taking ECE classes.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking nature walks, teaching the kids about trees, plants, animals, birds, the planet, the solar system etc. I like to set up hand eye coordination activities such as sensory bins, separating colors, playing catch, doing arts and crafts. I love to incorporate age appropriate learning with play and physical activities.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for ASD children, adhered to their IEP plans (helping with homework, studying, teaching different methods to help out) incorporating ASL for non-verbal children. I’ve volunteered as CSDR and I’ve worked with Blind people, I know a little Braille, I know a lot about accessibility. I’ve helped with music therapy, occupational therapy, and have ample experience with tantrums and encouragement.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was a live-in nanny for 3 children and they were capturing bugs and the oldest (11) asked me for help to build a container for a caterpillar the youngest (3) had found and they all took care of it and raised it until it became.. a huge moth lol we were all a bit surprised but it was very cute
