More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I currently work in the field of education and have for the past four+ years! I have a background in Special Education, but currently work as the Library Media Assistant at a local public high school. I have worked in education institutions with children ages 4-18 years old. I have also previously worked as a nanny, in-home therapist, in a daycare, before/after school care program, as well as several summer camps over the years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts & crafts of any and all kinds, cooking/baking, building/engineering (legos), reading, playing outside, imaginative play, teaching of life skills, going out into the community for activities/events, staying active.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is being the trusted, loving stand-in for mom or dad when they are not able to be there. It is very important for me to be able to be a resource for the kids I nanny/babysit for in whatever capacity they need me. Whether it's fun/engagement, teaching something new, providing general care, or being an emotional/mental support system for them, I want them to feel that they can trust me and look forward to the time we spend together.
My experience with special needs children...
I have been working with both children and adults with Special Needs on and off for the last decade. For 3+ years, I worked at a therapeutic day school for children with Autism ages 3-22 years old. I also previously worked as an in-home therapist/caregiver for two sisters with Autism and other sensory-processing needs. In addition, I have worked in the Special Education department at a local public education institution, as well as a Special Needs summer camp for individuals with varying Special Needs (Autism/ASD, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Epilepsy, Spina Bifida, DHH, blind/vision impairments, feeding tubes, Paraplegia, Asthma, etc).
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching my kids how to make their favorite meals/foods so they can learn a valuable life skill but still have fun in the process. Cooking/baking brings out the best creativity in kids!

Hi! I’m Ella. I’m a high school student who loves kids, being outside, animals, cooking, baking, crafts, sports, adventures, etc. I have over 5 years of paid experience with up to 6 kids at a time. I am comfortable with kids 6 weeks to 9 years but am willing to make exceptions based on the child. I especially love babies and toddlers because they are constantly learning new things and changing. I love spending time with older kids because I think it’s so amazing to see them grow into their personalities and become little humans! I love teaching and am very patient with school work, potty training, etc. I’d love a summer position and/or occasional night time position.
