More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been volunteering in Children’s ministry for around 10 years now. In the nursery and in elementary classrooms. I got my first babysitting job almost 8 years ago and have been babysitting ever since. I was a children’s ministry intern for 3 months this past summer and then directed a Children’s ministry program for a month before leaving there. I also have a baby nephew and love getting to help take care of him.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going to the park and playing active games there. I also love doing creative things like coloring or doing crafts. One of my favorite things I’ve done when babysitting was making cards and “mailing” them to their parents. But we just put it in the mailbox and I told the parents to check for these letters the next day. I also LOVE singing and playing music. My best friends little sisters were always interested in piano and singing and so I would teach them and just play around with it with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To make sure the kids are safe, and that they know they are cared for. I love being able to show up to ballgames and plays and everything the kids I nanny care about. I want to help them grow and have fun while doing so.
My experience with special needs children...
I have been in kids ministry with a group of 20 kids and 3 of which were on the spectrum. This was a group of 3rd-5th graders, I was also by myself. I have learned through that how to care more for kids that have Autism. And I have worked with numerous kids that have ADHD. Although that is my only experience, I am open to being trained in how to work better with special needs children. I believe they deserve excellent nanny’s and babysitters as well!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was probably right after Christmas with the first kid I babysat. He had all of the boxes from his toys from Christmas and we made a HUGE tunnel system. It was so fun! And we played with that the entire night.
