A little bit about me

My name is Emily, I am 32 years old, originally from Virginia Beach, looking for my next Ohana. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Art Education. For 4 years, I was a live in nanny for an incredible traveling family with 2 daughters, which allowed me to see the world. I was with them through the birth and raising of the second child, and learned a great deal from their renowned night nurse who stayed with us after the baby was born. For the past 5 years, I have been with an amazing family in Hawaii for two high energy boys, starting when the youngest was only a few months old. For the past two years, I have also been subsitute teaching with elementary aged students.
In my free time I love to spend time hiking or at the beach with my beloved aussiedoodle, as well as make stained glass which I picked up during covid. I consider myself a major foodie and love to cook healthy food, so meal prepping is no problem. I am comfortable doing errands, and housekeeping as well.

With children I enjoy making crafts, singing and dancing, spending time outside, playing with water or at the beach, reading books- the list goes on an on.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is becoming a member of the Ohana. To me, being a nanny is like being a big sister and best friend. Someone they can trust and count on to love them. I love being a part of the big milestones, but also the small moments, which I hold so close to my heart.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a nanny for two months for a ten year old girl with cerebral palsy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Wow to narrow it down to one moment would be near impossible! Something that has given me great joy as a nanny has been being with a specific child since she was born and been by her side for all of her life! Also, many potty trainings HAHA! I love seeing a child be proud of themselves for trying and learning something new!
