I from a young age I helped my mother take care of my diabetic brother.
I have experience with twin babies, my cousin had two girls.
I temporarily assisted with special needs child care for a 5 year-old who was on the spectrum.
I used to be the volunteer babysitter for people in my community during high school.

I have experience with diabetic children, children on the spectrum, children with mental illness, foster children rehabilitating from abuse, and children with chronic illnesses.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Once, my little cousin fell while roller skating and badly cut up her knee. I carried her into the house and she was sobbing. I cleaned up her knee in the bathroom and made sure there wasn't a sprain or break. Not even thirty minutes later we were making low sugar banana pancakes and singing "5 little monkeys jumping on the bed".
I think this is one of my favorite nanny moments for being there to help her feel safe again after feeling pain. I enjoyed being able to care for her and enable her to feel those emotions without judgment and be able to turn around the bad day into a good one.
