More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have some education background in Early Education and Health Services, have previously been CPR & First Aid Certified (don’t have certificates anymore but could easily get re-certified!), and experience caring for all ages from newborns to teens! I have 4 younger siblings of my own so big families are not an issue at all :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outdoors and playing sports in my own personal life, so I enjoy activities with the kids that can include those! Even just “nature walks” playing “I Spy” or fun games that keep kids interested in what’s going on around them. Puzzles, board games, crafts, baking/cooking, or playing with toys are also all a go! For kids that are allowed screen time I also like watching age appropriate movies or even maybe playing some video games (although I’m not great at those, but more fun if they keep winning I guess!)
The most important part about being a nanny...
I grew up with a nanny myself so it’s important that there’s a good relationship between both the kids and the nanny but also me and the parents! If the kids don’t like me being around, everyone will be miserable so it’s important to learn what everyone enjoys doing and their interests so we can build a relationship!
My experience with special needs children...
I have SOME experience with children with ADD/ADHD as well as autism. I would not say I am an “expert” at all but am more than willing and comfortable to learn!
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments is after a long day of playing, my old kiddos and I ate dinner and got ready for bed! They still had about an hour so the 5 of us watched some Pokémon all cuddled together on the couch :)
