I have been the go-to babysitter for my parents for as long as I can remember (because I have five younger siblings, currently aged [phone number hidden], and 5). Besides this, I have volunteered at Vacation Bible School every summer since I was 12 years old, helping in the nursery with infants and toddlers, as well as working with groups of 3-4 year olds, 5-6 year olds, 7-9 year olds, and 10-12 year olds.

I love helping children put together puzzles and train tracks, reading them books, helping them with little crafts, helping them with school/homework, swimming in the pool with them, baking with them, and playing board games and card games with older children, as well as catch and hide-and-seek.

One of my favorite kids moments was when I was volunteering at Vacation Bible School this summer. My group of 5-6 year olds were making little baking soda volcanoes. One quiet little boy's volcano didn't work, and he was very upset. So, after quickly getting him a new solution and more baking soda, I got him to try again. He poured the ingredients into his volcano and it erupted! I will never forget the big smile that spread across his face and remained there for the rest of the day!
