More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes my time working in private homes as a nanny and tutor, my experience in Reggio Emilia–inspired preschool settings, and my work supporting school-aged children with homework, enrichment, and daily routines. I have also supported children with developmental delays, autism, ADHD, sensory needs, and medical or dietary restrictions.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children include anything that encourages exploration, creativity, and movement. I love outdoor adventures, sensory play, story time, building projects, imaginative play, and simple hands-on science or art activities. I also enjoy turning everyday routines—like cooking, walks, or errands—into learning moments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving environment where a child feels truly seen, supported, and understood. When a child feels secure, everything else—growth, curiosity, independence—naturally follows.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs care has come from a combination of formal roles and hands-on childcare. I’ve worked with children who have autism, ADHD, PDA profiles, sensory needs, food allergies, and developmental delays. In my educational and childcare roles, I often supported children who needed additional structure, emotional co-regulation, or alternative ways to engage and communicate.

I’ve cared for children with language delays and have experience using simple visual supports, predictable routines, modeling language, and breaking tasks into manageable steps. I’ve also supported children with sensory sensitivities — adapting activities, adjusting environments, and giving them tools to feel grounded (movement breaks, quiet spaces, or tactile activities).

In addition, I’ve assisted children with food allergies and medical needs, including monitoring restricted diets, preventing cross-contamination, and following strict routines for safety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was the day a neurodivergent child I worked with tried something new on his own—something he had previously been hesitant about. The confidence he gained in that one moment felt like a breakthrough for both of us.

Hi! I am Kelly. I am taking a break from the corporate world for a few months before I start law school in the fall. I’d love to meet you and have some summer fun with your kids!

I moved to DC after going to Yale University for undergrad, but I am originally from Cuba, so happy to help practice Spanish too! I speak some Italian and can understand a little Portuguese. I grew up working with kids at church and spent many years leading an after school class at a JCC.

I love being outdoors, arts and crafts, and trying simple but delicious recipes. I look forward to meeting you!

Courtney M. - Seeking Work in Washington

Babysitter Available in Washington, DC: Courtney M.

I grew up in the Washington, DC area in a big family with ten siblings, and as one of the four oldest I’ve been helping raise little ones for as long as I can remember. On top of that, I have endless cousins, so I’ve constantly been surrounded by kids of all ages. Growing up in such a large family taught me patience, responsibility, and how to manage different personalities and needs. Caring for children has always been a natural part of my life, and I bring that same warmth, reliability, and hands-on experience to the families I work with.
