-children with ADHD, autism, depression, and anxiety
Teaching experience:
-secondary mathematics educator
-secondary intro computer science educator
-secondary social emotional learning facilitator
-private tutor for elementary through high school aged students
-lead teacher for the “walkers” age group at a local preschool

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some indoor activities I enjoy doing with children include:
-Reading
-Homework help
-Arts and crafts
-Singing and dancing (big music lover here!)
-Making a game out of tidying up
-Playing thought provoking conversation games (ex.: if you could be any animal/bug/mythical creature, what would you be and why?)
-Playing pretend/games that spark imagination
-Playing board games/card games
-Playing hide-and-seek
-Cooking together
-Letting the child show me what they enjoy doing and then joining in on their fun!
Some outdoor activities I enjoy doing with children include (almost) all that is listed above in addition to:
-Swinging
-Bike riding
-Water play
-Going on walks
-Sports (I'm not super athletic, but it's all about the fun, isn't it?)
I am NOT a nanny that relies on screen time. I believe in being fully present to the end of best supporting the families I serve.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I have always had a heart for children, and I am a natural caregiver and teacher at heart! One day, I will be a foster parent. For now, I support children and their families in the form of a nanny, math teacher, general tutor, and friend because that is what I feel called to do!
My experience with special needs children...
I have served a family with a child with Down Syndrome, and I have taught a diverse group of students with a range of physical and intellectual challenges including autism, ADHD, depression, trauma, and mobility limitations. I am highly skilled at meeting any child where they are at and catering to the needs of the families that I serve.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have many favorite moments from my time as a nanny. It is hard to choose just one to share, so I will share a few blurbs:
-supporting my 3 year old kiddo in independently writing the names of her family members on a painting she made during our little art session. I learned when mom picked her up that this was the first time she wrote independently :)
-conversations with a sweet toddler about what various items are called in Spanish as we go throughout our day (bilingual baby!)
-the first time all of my kiddos told me they loved me 🥹
-becoming best friends with the mother of a child that I care for. I’m grateful to call them my family now❤️
-learning ASL alongside one of my kiddos
-I told one my 3 year old kiddo that I needed to check the time to see how much longer we had before I needed to take her back home. Her response to me is one I will never forget: “did the time say we can stay here forever?” Obviously, we just HAD to set another 10 minute timer to soak up some more fun :)
