The most important part of being a nanny is ensuring the children are not only cared for but safe. I strive to create good environments for my kids to grow in, not just physically, but also emotionally and intellectually. Whether it be with playing imagination or helping me clean up their toys, I am always trying to show the kids how to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
Before attending college I would assist my mother in her classroom and on field trips. She was a special Ed teacher and then administrator. While I have not personally had much professional experience, I learned very much while volunteering with her.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was a month into sitting with my new family. I showed up for work at 8am as normal and when I walked through the door the baby grew the biggest smile on his face. It made me feel incredible good because I knew that this baby was still cautious around strangers, but in so little time we had formed a nice bond.
