A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Emma, a student at Utah Valley University studying graphic design. I've nannied on and off for years for friends and family, so caring for kids has always been a natural part of my life. I also spent 2 years as a volunteer PE and zoology teacher for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade, where I planned fun, active lessons and learned how to connect with children of all ages. As an art workshop instructor, I taught hands-on art classes to guests of all ages, and I love bringing that creativity to arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play. I'm patient, dependable, and always on time, and I take safety seriously. I'm also bilingual in English and Spanish. I love getting creative with kids through arts and crafts, painting, and drawing. I also enjoy getting kids moving with outdoor play, sports, and active games, something I learned as a PE teacher. Thanks to my time teaching zoology, I love exploring nature and learning about animals together. I also like reading books, doing puzzles, baking simple treats.

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is making sure kids feel safe, loved, and truly cared for. Parents are trusting me with the most important people in their lives, so I take that responsibility seriously by being dependable, paying close attention, and keeping open communication with families. Once kids feel safe and comfortable, that's when the fun begins, and I can help them learn, play, and grow in a way that feels like an adventure

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I used to nanny my nephews, we had themed days, and one of our favorites was "safari day." We made our own binoculars, put on our safari hats, and wrote a list of animals and things we hoped to spot on our adventure around the neighborhood. When we got back, each of us drew our favorite thing from the safari so we could show their parents everything we discovered. I love moments like this because they turn an ordinary walk into something kids are excited to remember, and I try to bring that same creativity and sense of adventure to every family I care for.
