More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a live in Nanny from [phone number hidden] where I cared for a 8 month old (grew to be just under 2 years) and a 5 year old (turned 6y/o). I often did volunteer work as a teen through my church caring for little ones (a variety of ages 1-12). I babysit regularly and have throughout my life whether it be siblings, cousins, nieces/nephews, or children on family/friends.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a role model for the children and loving them unconditionally just as a parent would. I want to be a fond memory for them as they grow older.
My experience with special needs children...
I helped raise my two younger brothers who are both special needs. One was non-verbal until about 5 y/o. Both have a form of autism placed differently on the spectrum. I am not around them much anymore due to moving out of state this past year. They are now 13 and 7.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s always my favorite when the little ones learn to say my name (or at least try, it’s a bit of a mouthful). I’ve grown found of hearing the variety of pronunciations over the years. It’s quite endearing.
Another moment is when they’re taking their first steps, common I know but I still brim with joy when I can witness it firsthand.
I also hearing about their first days of a new school year it’s funny to hear about certain silly expectations being met or quite the opposite. Or what they honestly think of their teachers at first (and them not being as good as the last) but, then hearing them quickly grow to love them.
