Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have volunteered for over 100 hours in the Well Baby nursery at the hospital. This includes bathing, feeding, and soothing newborns. I have also volunteered in my church's nursery working with infants and toddlers as well as older children.

The most important part about being a nanny...
is respecting the autonomy of and protecting the children under my care. I definitely include gentle parenting teachings in my nanny practice. This means I give children choices about things that don't impact their safety. Do you want to leave the park now or in 5 minutes? Do you want to wear the red shoes or the blue?
Giving children choices and autonomy throughout their day makes them more in control of their lives and helps them to become independent adults. I love watching the children under my care grow and develop into their own personalities and anything I can do to help foster that is wonderful.

My favorite nanny moment was picking huckleberries with a 2 and 3 year old and seeing the delight on their faces when they tried their first one and then later on how excited they were to share the experience with their parents.
