I like TV shows like: PBS kids, Looney Tunes and Max Fletcher productions that teaches critical thinking skills, creativity, and the teaching of classical music that calms and helps the child focus.
For the older kids: I love PBS kids, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Nature Geographic, Brain Games, and HBO's Max show CrashBox.
I encourage exercise with the children. It helps the both of us and of course I'll do the activities the kids like first, but my personal goal is to get them to like new things.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Dealing with children, heals me. Selfishly speaking it makes me feel good to do fir others what I was not able to do for myself. Children animals have always been drawn to me and now I'm drawn to them as well.

Just because the child may have an ailment, that does not mean they are unintelligent, or cannot think and feel. I've dealt with and observed tactics over the years. I learned this: work through the ailment and do not condescend, it would infuriate anyone.

When I was able to mend a parent and child relationship, because I listened to them both. The parent was not as knowledgeable as they would like to be in an area and with teamwork we were able to correct the confusion.
