A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Erin I’ve worked as a teacher to underprivileged parts of the Austin community and am now looking to go back to my roots as a caretaker. I started my career in nursing homes as a hospitality aide when I was 16. I loved my work there, I received so much fulfillment working with, and helping the residents. I eventually received A job at the Travis County Sheriff’s office and became a correctional officer. There at TCSO I received incredible life safety and interpersonal communication training. I promoted quickly after to my current position as Marketable Skills officer and now I teach inmates and civilians with community service hours how to paint, sew, pour concrete, structural frame and commercially farm. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love teaching. I’m currently in school right now for mechanical engineering I’m very good at math and science I enjoy reading but more than that I enjoy sharing that with children teaching them new skills hoping them with homework. My favorite part is watching the little lightbulb in their head to off and I finally begin to understand something it’s very rewarding!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My philosophy to childcare has always been ensuring the safety and security of the children first above all else. Once that has been established I think it is vital to establish a safe and healthy environment for the children that allows them to have fun and learn but also respect the rules that their parents have left me behind to enforce. I really enjoy taking children outside to look at the world around them I enjoy playing games with them and reading to them and creating an exciting and nurturing environment for them that they can be engaged in!
