I worked as a preschool teacher for 2 years, as well as a year of student teaching with a kindergarten class. I also nannied for 3 years in Hawaii and 6 months in Indiana.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking the kids out to experience new things whether it be big or small. I like to get them outdoors and keep them active. I also enjoy doing fun things like crafts, beach days, or educational days.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I genuinely think the most important thing about being a nanny is the relationship you build with the children. I always want the kids I'm working with to see me as a trustworthy loving caretaker. I want them to look back at their childhood and think about how they had a super amazing nanny who loved them and did all kinds of fun things with them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with autism and am comfortable caring for children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I worked with a very loving child who had a medical issue keeping his from talking well. This led to lots of trantrums because the poor kid couldn’t communicate his feelings. Once the medical issue was fixed and he was working on his speech, we started working on emotions and expressing them and what’s okay and what’s not. He is speaking it fluently and is so good at expressing his feelings as a 4 year old now.
