I am compassionate, fun, organized, honest and patient. Infant & Child CPR/First Aid certification current. I have experience with newborns, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children, and have completed Professional Nanny Certification with Northwest Nannies Institute, where I learned positive behavior management skills, how to prepare age-appropriate educational activities, safety awareness, communication and basic child development landmarks. What inspires me the most is providing attention to children's sensitivities, listening deeply, showing compassion, and following their interests. I have also completed Level 1 Ecotherapy training, which helps me to be conscious of ways to encourage connection with nature in an imaginative way. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for Northwest Nannies Placement Agency for a few years, which involved short-term placements for date nights, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking kids outside to explore the outdoors, by going for walks, throwing rocks into a stream, etc. Making playdough is always a hit, making "potions" in the backyard, doing themed activities gathered from pinterest around subjects like dinosaurs, butterflies, or whatever theme the child shows interest in!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel the most important part is helping kids feel that their feelings, thoughts, and presence are important. I try to always keep in mind that what kids hear and witness early on forms their self-talk as adults. My goal is to set kids up with positive self-talk. I also feel teaching them self sufficiency and responsibility is important. I try to always be matter of fact and kind, and to use no judgment/shame when discipline is needed, and to be patient.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The little boy I watch approached me holding some roly polys, wanting to show me his "fwens." Later we ordered him a butterfly house and some caterpillars, which he checked on every day, and was delighted with. It was precious how sweet he is to rolly polys, butterflies and frogs.
