As the eldest child in my family as well as my extended family, I often babysat siblings and cousins or other younger relatives for free. I also volunteered as a camp counselor for a summer camp right before college and helped look after nieces and nephews at family gatherings.

I love doing crafts, reading books, and playing make-believe with kids. Helping them to explore the world and their own creativity in fun and engaging ways is something that bring me great joy. I'm also a very cuddly person so I'm always there to provide hugs and comfort as desired/needed.

The most important part of being a nanny, is to ensure that communication between myself and parents/caregivers is clear and upfront and that the children's safety and well-being is prioritized.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not had any specific experience caring for children with special needs, but as a member of the neurodivergent community I have a strong passion for making sure that every child is cared for according to their needs regardless of what those might be. I also have a decent understanding of various forms of neurodiversity due to my own research and experiences.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have not had any experience as a nanny yet, but my favorite experience from working at the daycare is having children come into my classroom that other teachers claim are just constantly crying or fussy and being able to help them calm down and get the care and attention that they need to feel safe and comfortable. I have found that lots of the time what they need most is just love and attention and someone to help them feel safe.
