More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have babysat several children in the neighborhood I grew up in, from the time I was about 15. At one point, I co-ran a little arts and crafts camp out of my parents house with my friend for some of the kids I had babysat before. I've also had minor teaching experience at the sewing studio I took lessons at, filling in as an assistant sewing teacher since the usual one was on maternity leave.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy any kind of arts and crafts, I have a very populated Pinterest with tons of fun, creative activities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is safety. Whether that be in a literal sense of "Hey don't do that dangerous thing" or making sure the kids know that they have a safe person they can talk to if they need, whether that is their parents or myself.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked as a one on one paraprofessional at a school focused on kids that are disabled/neurodivergent. I really enjoyed the role I had there and was told I was very effective and helpful for the student.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was babysitting a pair of siblings who I'd known for years after the holiday season. They'd gotten a VR Rig and had one of those immersive diver games. When I came over, they immediately wanted to share this with me and set me up on the rig all by themselves. They put me in the diving game and said it was a "peaceful diving experience". For maybe two minutes, the simulation was very peaceful and beautiful. Then, as the "cage" drifts deeper, a crazed shark swims up from nowhere and starts biting the cage! I screamed so loud and the kids thought it was just hysterical. As scary as it was for maybe two seconds, it was delightful to see how hard the kids were laughing.

Hello! My name is Aaron. I am a 27 year old Columbia U grad looking for a fun Manny job this summer! I have 10+ years of childcare and education experience. For the past 5 years I have been a professional tutor, working with kids of all ages for 30+ hours per week. Before that I worked in children's homeless shelters for 2 years. Growing up I helped raise my 2 younger siblings when my mother needed to finish her college degree, and took care of many younger cousins. I babysat through high school and college!
I am a fun, social, emotionally in-tune caregiver. I become the trusted older-brother uncle figure. I love to do fun, creative activities and tire out the children for a relaxed evening.
I am currently in Minneapolis, and am looking for opportunities in Atlanta for the summer and potentially beyond. I would like to relocate somewhere warmer.

I genuinely love working with children and finding joy in fostering their growth and curiosity. I believe in creating an engaging and supportive environment where kids can learn, explore, and have fun. My favorite activities include making adventures out of trips to the park, diving into imaginative worlds during storytime at the library, and sparking creativity with interactive cooking lessons. I also cherish reading together, which is a wonderful way to discover new stories and encourage a lifelong love for books. I'm a patient, caring, and creative individual, and I'm excited about my upcoming relocation to Atlanta, eager to connect with a wonderful family and become a positive part of their children's lives.
