A little bit about me

I’ve developed a real love for working with children through my time in ESE and Early Head Start roles with Broward County Schools. Those experiences taught me how to be patient, caring, and attentive to each child’s unique needs. I truly enjoy helping kids learn, grow, and feel safe; a care and energy that I will carry with me into babysitting. I'm currently enrolled in the EMT course at MDC, which includes CPR and First Aid certifications, so safety is always a top priority for me. I truly enjoy being a positive presence in a child’s life and giving parents peace of mind.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

ESE and Early Head Start TA roles with Broward County Schools through Kelly Education, and a counselor last summer with FIU’s Summer Academy in Liberty City. I’ve mainly worked with children ages 0-11

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When it comes to play, I’ve received training in child-led play, a form of play that allows the child to guide the interaction. My job is to create a safe and engaging environment, then follow your child's lead, observing and joining in their play as invited. This encourages autonomy and lets children express themselves freely. As an avid hiker, I also enjoy going to the playground and running around with children, and believe it’s a great way to help them expel extra energy before nap times.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Safety. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. To have fun but to make sure they’re safe. That is my main reason for working towards becoming an EMT. I know I’ll be working with children going forward, but I want to know that I have the best training and capabilities to do so.

My experience with special needs children...

Through Kelly Education - Broward, I’ve worked with a vast array of children from those with ADHD, ODD/IED, and many others on the spectrum of ASD. My work has mainly been in classroom settings as a teachers Aide, paraprofessional, and or teacher at times. Lastly, I am currently working on my RBT certification, who’s training has come very handy for me in many situations working with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Nothing beats hugs from babies, especially working with 7+ children at a time. With the younger bunch, when they see one baby hug you, they all want to hug you at the same time. I’ve found myself with almost 5 babies on my person at a time during story times, and it’s always the funniest and most wholesome part of my day.
