I've also successfully navigated potty training with five children, including one with special needs and another who is autistic.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing a variety of activities with kids of all ages. For newborns, I enjoy gentle playtime, singing lullabies, and reading soft storybooks. As they get older, I like to do arts and crafts, play games, go outside for some fun in the park, and even do some simple cooking projects. I think itβs important to engage their creativity and keep things fun while also focusing on learning. Iβm all about creating a positive and nurturing environment!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Caring for children and ensuring their well-being. This includes providing a safe and nurturing environment, meeting their physical needs feeding, bathing, dressing, and supporting their emotional and social development. A nanny's role goes beyond basic care; it involves building a trusting relationship with the children, encouraging their growth, and contributing to their overall happiness.
Feeling alive is the most important way to be a nanny because it enables you to fully engage with the children and the experience. It's the joy of witnessing a child's first steps, the comfort of providing a safe haven, the creativity of planning fun activities, and the empathy needed to understand their feelings. This feeling of being alive allows you to connect with the children on a deeper level, making the experience more meaningful for both you and them. It fuels your passion for caring, your patience in challenging moments, and your commitment to helping them thrive.

My experience with special needs children...
I have a strong connection with special needs kids, and Iβm really good at working with them. Over the summer of 2024, I successfully potty trained my six-year-old autistic nephew, who was going into first grade and still wearing diapers. It was a rewarding experience to help him reach this milestone. Heβs verbal and enjoys watching movies in different languages, which shows his unique interests.
Iβve also learned some basic sign language to communicate with him better. While Iβm not fully proficient yet, Iβve picked up several words that help me connect with him. I believe in creating a supportive and understanding environment for kids with special needs, and Iβm committed to helping them thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most memorable sweet moments I had while babysitting was when I was watching a little girl who loved to paint. We set up a mini art station in the backyard, and I let her choose all the colors she wanted. As we painted together, she suddenly stopped, looked at me, and said, βYouβre the best artist ever!
It melted my heart because I wasnβt even that good! We ended up painting a big rainbow together, and she insisted on hanging it up in her room. That moment of pure joy and creativity made me realize how special it is to share these experiences with kids. Itβs those little moments that really stick with you!
