More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I start working with kids when I volunteered with my local YMCA’s Infant Care Program where I volunteered for a couple years until I was old enough to get hired. I cherished my time there and came back to work for them for the first year of Covid when I was doing online nursing school. I also did lots of babysitting throughout my highschool years. When I graduated Nursing School I get a job at Swedish First Hill Hospital in Seattle on their Pediatric unit where I cared for kids newborn to 18 years old. After working Nightshift for a year, I made a transition to being a 1:1 School nurse at an elementary school where I work in a disabled classroom with six amazing kids. I also nannied for a 6 month old baby last summer!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am a very hands on, engaged nanny. I am not the type of caregiver to sit back and just put on the TV. I love playing and being with children no matter their age. Being creative and finding connection whether it be reading a book, putting down a child for nap time or making playdoh, I love caring with my heart.
Outside, I like to play with bubbles, face paint, read books, bike, swim, and take walks.
Inside, I like to read books, make art, make playdough, make paper airplanes, etc anything creative!

The most important part about being a nanny...
1. Safety. Being a registered nurse and up on all my certifications, I hope this shows how much I value safety and your child’s well-being. I know that most of safety begins with the child's environment and being attentive.
2. Patience. Whether it be working with the newborn or a nonverbal child with down syndrome who can't tell me what they need I take the time to see what each child needs, and how I can best help them.
3. Building a connection. No matter the age of the child I am caring for I think the most important thing is to be able to build a connection. I am a very calm, gentle presence for children and I want them to feel comfortable and happy in my presence.

My experience with special needs children...
I have two years of experience as a 1:1 nurse in a special needs classroom in an elementary school. I have worked with kids with with seizure disorders, G/J tubes, respiratory disease. I have also helped/worked ranging from cognitive and physical disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was last summer when I taking care of a 6 month old and we would play during tummy time. It was the highlight of my days because the smiles and laughs I got while playing peekaboo and reading books was the best sound in the world. To be able to witness him learn how to roll and be so happy. To elicit and witness such joy, were very special moments for me.

Babysitter Available in Bellingham, WA: Makayla T.
I am an older sibling of five children so I am very experienced in childcare for many ages. I have worked at a childcare center for around a year and loved it so much! I am a college student at Western Washington University so I have pretty flexible hours! I plan to be a biology major and a doctor one day so a bit of stress from kids will be no issue at all. I’m willing to help with rides from school or extracurricular activities. I am also more than capable of making dinner or getting kids to bed for a quick date night.
