More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My passion for working with children began as a teenager, volunteering with an elementary aged summer program. That experience led me to volunteer in my church nursery and start babysitting outside of school and work. Over the last 20yrs I have worked with a range of ages and groups outside of my full time work. In 2017, I began my career passion of being a Nanny. I was blessed enough to help care for and guide 5 amazing children in 1 family. I have such a great relationship with them to this day. With that, I am comfortable with multiple children, depending on ages. Since then I have been blessed to work with 2 wonderful families, along with many families for short term needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe the more children have fun, the easier nap time or bed time could be!

I enjoy going on "adventures" with my nanny children. These adventures include attending storytime, visiting museums, finding new libraries and parks, watching construction sites, nature walks, pet store trips, and the zoo. On rainy or snowy days, I enjoy creating sensory bins, age appropriate craft or painting activities, independent play, imaginative play, reading books, and of course, dance parties.
Indoor:
Coloring, drawing, painting, arts&crafts, age appropriate board games/games in general, legos, reading, etc.
outdoor:
Walking/hiking, playing in the yard, going to parks, playing tag, hide&seek, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is being able to watch littles grow into their personalities. I really enjoy watching children grow, learn and develop their confidence.

My experience with special needs children...

I am always open to learn new skills. My skills are lacking within the area of working with special needs children. I have worked with special needs children mainly within church settings. A few times for times for babysitting assistance.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have worked with many children over the. last 20 years. I have many, many favorite memories, but the one that will stick out the most with me is about my current charge. I have been his nanny since he was 6m old. He is 3.5y now. Since I started, I have sang to him before nap and bedtime. My time is ending with him soon and its starting to become real for me. It is a negative of my career choice, getting attached to the littles. I sang to him before bed one night, like I always do, holding him. This night, he sat up, held my face in his hands, said "I love you nani" and then started singing along with me. It was the first time he sang with me in 3yrs.
