To care for the children as if they’re are your own, to set boundaries but not be to stern with them! Be open with them make them laugh, have fun with them. Also to be understanding when they have a temper tantrum and get them to become calm and ask what’s wrong! (Even though you can’t understand some toddlers words it’s always best to listen)
