More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My most direct childcare experience includes teaching K–2 students at KIPP New Orleans, where I provided daily instruction and emotional support for children ages 5–8, managed classroom routines, and served as a trusted point of contact for families. I also worked as a Camp Counselor at the YMCA, providing full-day supervision and activity facilitation for school-age children in a summer program. During my graduate clinical internship, I provided individual therapy and play therapy for children and adolescents. I've also supported children with diverse learning needs, multilingual backgrounds, and individualized developmental goals across multiple school settings.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love activities that spark curiosity and creativity: arts and crafts, cooking simple recipes together, outdoor exploration, reading aloud, and games that sneak in learning without feeling like school. I also enjoy movement-based activities, music, and imaginative play. With school-age kids I love helping with homework in a way that builds confidence rather than stress.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Consistency and trust. Children thrive when they feel safe, and safety comes from knowing that the person caring for them will show up reliably, warmly, and consistently. Being a steady, joyful presence that a child can count on is the foundation everything else is built on.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with language development delays, learning differences, behavioral challenges, and anxiety.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as an educator was watching a multilingual student who had barely spoken in class suddenly raise their hand and answer a question with total confidence. Those breakthrough moments, when a child realizes what they're capable of, are why I do this work.
