I've volunteered at many places where I had to take responsibility for children, my favorite being a hiking leader where I'd hike with children and ensuring their safety while letting them be free to be curious and learn about new things.

Playing or teaching them new sports or letting them pick activities they would like to do and trying to make it as fun as possible for them.

To me the most important thing about being a nanny is making sure the child is having a safe but fun time. Doing things they normally do.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a hiking leader and sometimes we would have children with special needs on the hikes and I would have to accommodate with that. Meaning being patient and understanding.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While being a hiking leader we were walking near a creek and a kid had asked were there any fishes in the creek. Before I could answer another kid had said, "Ew, fish." It was funny to me and I won't forget that.
