Hello, My name Is Geneva Hill I am a mother of a 7 year old boy and we currently reside in the Bronx. Before I had my son I would baby sit children with parents who needed to work fulltime from newborns to pre teens. Some of my clients were family members and others were recommended from good reviews from my family and their children. I love children and it would be an honor to help other families in need of assistance. As a single mother I understand the obstacles that come with being a parent and maintaining a home and building financial stability. I cook, clean, assist with homework, create activities and games, outdoor explorations, and consistent nurture and care for your child(ren) as if they were my own.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Always provide a SAFE environment!! I can't stress it enough , I have read or watched so many stories of nannies and their "work ethics" and Always in your mind you should be acting as if every child you have to care for is like your own. Every decision you make if there is a risk ask yourself "what if this was your kid? Would you do it?" Being a nanny is an extreme thought process any next move make sure its in the benefit of the child(ren). Always let the child be aware of why you or they can or can't do something, explain the safety measures even if you have to make a minor demonstration, create diversions, alternatives, or plans to get their mind off what they wanted to do.

My experience with special needs children...

I have dealt with children with Autism , ADD/ADHD, and down syndrome. All children are still the same in all forms no matter their needs. I don't personally call it "special needs" All children are special to me just some kids need more attention and care than others and that is okay.

I have had administer medications, regulate tantrums or emotional episodes in a proper profession manner. ALWAYS FOLLOW the parents instructions or routines that they carried out throughout the day/ night to ensure their child's comfortability.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my clients I was watching their daughter for two years straight I was 17 at the time she was 5 and the family decided they wanted to moving away for a better/ healthier life. Their daughter was so attached to me she either wanted me to go move with them or she stay and live with me. She was so serious that it was hilarious to her parents and I, but it warmed my heart and it saddened me for them to leave. I still keep in contact till this day and I am 26 now, I hope to one day go and visit them.
