A little bit about me

Hello, dear parents. My name is Georgeta Dumitrascu, and I am an experienced, CPR and First-Aid certified nanny with over 10 years of experience. I have worked in child-care facilities and in private homes with children ranging from newborn to grade school ages. I also have previous experience as a maid and food-service worker, meaning I will not only care for your children, but for their diet and for your home as well. Your children are the most precious thing you have in life--as a mother of two wonderful, grown kids, I know that. Therefore, I can assure you that my care focuses on safety, first and foremost, as well as bodily health and mental development. I know how to meticulously care for kids while also providing all the entertainment and stimulation they need to feel happy, nurtured, and protected in my care. Your children are your most important investments, and I am ready to invest in them alongside you.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Between the years [phone number hidden], I worked full-time at a daycare facility called Baymeadows Baptist School in Jacksonville, FL. Throughout my decade there, I worked with preschool kids, toddlers, and infants. I was eventually promoted to the lead of the infant unit, where I would often take care of 3-4 babies by myself. I cared for the children 8 hours a day, including feeding, nap, and play times. I also worked hand-in-hand with parents to develop healthy routines for the babies when they were at home, and provided plenty of new parents with advice. I left the job in 2016 to go into private childcare. I worked with a single family out of my home for 5 years, which included caring for their 3 daughters. I raised two of their infant daughters during this time, as well as a pre-school-grade-school-aged child.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some childcare duties are essential: feeding, nap-time, potty training, and general supervision. But I go far beyond the essentials because that's when kids truly thrive. Working as a private nanny out of my home especially allows me to engage in a variety of activities with kids. I like to set up arts and crafts with them, play fun and educational songs (with the occasional dance party thrown in), as well as promote learning by teaching kids the alphabet, colors, how to read, or simple math. As I live in a condominium, my neighborhood comes equipped with a park and a pool. I like to take kids out on walks and to the playground to make sure they get sufficient exercise, and when the parent is comfortable with it, I take them out to our pool in the summer. The best way to cool off after that is with some icey and fruity treats!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny has to be developing a routine and lifestyle for children that will carry them forward into the future. I've learned this especially working with infants, that the way you start them off is the way they will continue. On one part, the physical care of the child is important. Proper feeding, rest, exercise--these are important so children can develop healthily. But all of these things often affect the emotional and psychological well-being of the child. A baby with irregular rest patterns will not make for a balanced toddler. A toddler who throws fits and is never educated about manners will not help their personality as a grade-schooler. What we do in these young years, which are so important for development, will carry forward into the future and determine how our children find success in life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments has to be when I make an impact on children, right from infancy. At both the daycare I worked at, and as a private nanny, I've had the privilege of caring for numerous infants, usually until they're at toddler or pre-school ages, and many times, those parents will bring their kids back when they're well into grade-school. Those children instantly recognize me and talk to me about some of their best moments with me. That's how I know I've done my job correctly and that I've helped to provide a childhood that kids will look back on happily into the future.
