More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been caring for children in some capacity since I was 15 and started my first summer nanny position. In high school, I volunteered at the Buhl Club in the babysitting room.
I moved to Pittsburgh in 2010 and while I was there I cared for nine children across five families. I also worked for Beth Shalom Early Learning Center as an Early Childhood Educator for three years.
After returning to Mercer County, I took a long term position with my most recent family of five years, caring for three children.
I have experience with children from newborn through teen years, and have assisted with remote learning through the pandemic.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some of my favorite activities to do with children include swimming, park visits, arts/crafts, reading, and cooking. I also enjoy outings to the zoos in the area and Pittsburgh museums.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are a few key components to being a great nanny...
First, there's connection, not only to the children one is caring for but also to the parents. The parents and the nanny need to be able to trust each other and depend on one another. Without a team mentality, the match won't work.
Next, there's flexibility. As a nanny, I generally have a routine I stick to with each family. However, when something comes up, it's important to be able to change the plan to do what's necessary. That also means that there might be meltdowns that need worked through if the children don't handle change to routine well.
Lastly, I believe a nanny needs to be able to take initiative. After working with a family for a period of time, a nanny learns what needs to be done in order for the household to function smoothly. A functioning household is key to supporting a family, and that's what a nanny does. That's what I do. I offer whole family support and teamwork.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One thing I'll never forget is when I walked into work one day, and before I even took my coat off, my employer casually handed me this bundled up two day old baby and said "Here, meet Piper!" He had complete faith in me after knowing me only six months. That's when I knew I was going to be that family's long term nanny.
