More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started keeping kids 15 years ago at a friend's house and eventually kept them at my home. During the summer all of the ones in school came to my home. I love Kids. I love to watch their reactions and interactions with others or if something is new their excitement

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Walking, planting a garden, learning about bugs and animals, rock hunting, mud pies, playing in the sprinkler, anything outdoors. Inside is for playing with blocks, reading, snacks, naps, learn colors and numbers and videos at times.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Listening and really "hearing and seeing" what the kids are trying to communicate without having the vocabulary yet to say it in words. Hugs are great. Rocking with a baby is magical to me. Seeing that I did a good job when they say something I taught them outside the classroom. When you see them outside the home and they run to me with giant hugs

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with kids who are add, adhd, down syndrome, autism, anxiety, stress. What kid isn't going thru something at some point, They need love and understanding

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had a little girl who I hadn't had for long and we were walking to see the horses that day. She had been stuffy all morning. I heard her sneeze and turned to tell her bless you and she had sneezed out beads from her hair. I called her mom and said " I know why she's stuffy. She has beads up her nose". Well mom freaked out and took her to the er where they found a couple of beads still there. Now she is 11 and beautiful with the beads staying in her hair.
