One on one time, exploring nature, encouraging imagination,creativity and expressing themselves and most important learning to" self sooth" and recognizing feelings and how those feelings make them feel and how to cope with those feelings . we all deal with our feelings individually in our own way and I think that is the hardest for children is recognizing their feelings and what those feelings are and how to deal with them. This was and still is my biggest struggle for me and my child and still is a everyday.

In 2017 I started working with my first family helping their non-verbal 8 year old explore community outside the home. The family expressed some difficulty in two major areas, the grocery store and the park. After allowing the child to feel safe and comfortable with me and understand their non-verbal cues, we began overcoming some of the challenges the family expressed.
I started by taking the child to the park early in the morning to beat the crowds, also for less overstimulation. This makes it easier for me to interact with the child independently and really get to know them.
My goal is to find not only where the child and families are striving but how we can overcome fears, respect boundaries, create independence, all while having fun!
Since 2017, I have worked with over 10 different families and stay with a family for a minimum of 6 months and up to 4+ years.
