Hello! My name is Jamie but my preferred name is Glory & I totally love caring for others!

Along with following the latest CDC guidelines, I also make sure I stay up to date with the newest first aid & CPR certifications.

I do have a drivers license as well as a Volkswagen CC.

Before I wrap up, I do want to mention that I truly enjoy caring for others’ homes as long as clear boundaries are set. I do laundry & prepare healthy meals along with comfort foods. I am open to learning & preparing food just how your child(or children!) likes it. I would love to share all that I have learned about feelings & emotion with your child & watch them blossom into their next stages of life. I want to teach your child about empathy & integrity. I want to be there while they explore varying levels of independence. I am a nurturer by nature & it would be an honor to be part of your lives.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been caring for others professionally for 8 years including individuals with disabilities, a preschool class and a babysitting agency. I also enjoyed babysitting and volunteering in nursery as a teen and young adult :) I do have a resumé that I am more than willing to share. I also have references available :D

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading and listening to educational music with children. I also enjoy hiking, riding bikes and having adventure time outside! I enjoy creating crafts and working towards developmental milestones during all activities :D

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being in a young person’s life is always being a positive support. When I look back at my life and think about the people who cared for me including teachers, babysitters and church staff, there are clear boxes I can put each person in when it came to who made me feel safe, loved and cared about and who made me feel insecure, scared and unsafe. I only ever want to encourage the children around me and build their self-esteem. Self-esteem is built in the home and therefore I only want to add to that. For some of the people I care for, I’m the only smiling face they will see the entire day. Why wouldn’t I take full advantage of that and make sure they feel like they are worth more than gold? :D

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children and adults with disabilities for 8 years now and I love it. I consider it a passion of mine. I have experience with a wide range of cognitive, intellectual and physical disabilities including Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome and various rare chromosome translocations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favourite moments are incredibly rewarding to me. There are no exact moments that come to mind but I do enjoy becoming aware of the fact that I am shaping a young being’s future behaviour and viewpoints. I find it amazing that I can be part of a young soul’s life and one day be a pleasant memory for the child and parents. Nearing the target behaviour after a long time of chaining(baby-steps) brings an indescribable joy and feeling of satisfaction for me :D
