Hi! My name is Grace Gonzalez. I’m 16 years old and currently a junior in high school. I’ve always had a natural love for working with children, and over the years, I’ve gained meaningful hands-on experience. I regularly babysit my 9-year-old cousin who has autism, as well as my 5-year-old cousin, so I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and creating a safe, nurturing space.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've babysat my younger cousins a lot, including my 9-year-old cousin who has autism and my 5-year-old cousin. I’ve helped with everything from playing games and making snacks to calming big feelings and getting them ready for bed.

I’m also part of the Early Childhood class at my high school, where I get to work hands-on with preschoolers. I’ve taught lessons, helped with activities, and even got to attend a special event at another school to help teach kids there too.

All of this has made me really love working with kids. I’m super caring, patient, and always try to make sure every kid feels safe, happy, and heard.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m a big sports girl and super active, so I love doing anything that gets kids moving and having fun. I’m always down to play soccer, dance around, or even just run around outside. I actually dance and play soccer as hobbies, so it’s something I truly enjoy sharing with kids.

I also love board games, crafts, and making up silly games together. Whether it’s building something with blocks, putting on a pretend show, or helping with homework, I’m always ready to jump in. I think it’s so important to keep things fun and creative, while also helping kids feel supported and safe.

To me, the most important part is creating a safe and loving space where kids feel happy and cared for. It’s about being patient, understanding, and always ready to listen. I think its important to be someone they can trust, have fun with, and learn from. Building that connection is what makes the job truly special.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had the privilege of babysitting my 9-year-old cousin who has autism, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences. It’s taught me so much about patience, understanding, and how every child communicates and connects in their own way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was when my little cousin (the 5-year-old I babysit) made me a "best babysitter ever" card completely out of stickers and construction paper. We had spent the whole day building legos and playing just dance in the living room.
