Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been an early childhood educator in Colorado for the past three and half years. I worked for a few different centers in Texas before becoming a mom and taking a little break when Covid was going on.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading books to children, playing music and singing and dancing along, sensory activities especially that help with tummy time for babies. Outside, I enjoy the park, bubbles, water play, sports, toy rides, wagon rides, chalk drawing, anything they enjoy and want to engage in.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The child/children are happy and safe while in care. The nanny is loving, nurturing and develop a special bond with the child/children. Provides a stimulating environment according to child’s needs to encourage development.
My experience with special needs children...
I did an internship with people of all abilities for 4 months in Aurora, IL at a special parks and recreation district. I also cared for a girl, Savannah, that has special needs on the weekends for around a year and a half before she went into a group home. I would take her to do different activities and keep her active.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments so far have been having siblings be born and taking care of baby number #2 after having taken care of their older sibling. It’s very special to see the sibling bond.
