I was then unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

May 2022 - Present: Private Nanny Share (two families) I started with each of their 15 month old boys. We added the new sibling of one family into my care in March 2025 - The two boys then aged out into preschool/TK and I now care for the second child of each family (2.5yo + 18mo).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I prioritize spending time in our community and being outdoors. There is so much to see and experience in this beautiful place!
Reading (with voice and expression) is one of my favorite activities - finding books with alluring illustrations, imaginative storylines, and compassionate messages. I love the library and group storytimes!
I enjoy many forms of art and creative expression - I love to get messy and prioritize process art vs product art. Love love love a sensory experience!
With infants, I have a lot of fun working on both fine and gross motor skills. I enjoy the challenge of finding innovative ways to help your infant grow.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My passion for meaningful connections is what drove me to make the switch to private care, in hopes to grow and evolve with the children and their families on a deeper level. I strive to provide a foundation for connection, collaboration, and community for the entire family; to share and hold the dichotomies of life with compassion and integrity, both in and out of childcare.
I grew up without many safe adults around. I strive to be a genuine, supportive and safe person that your child can lean on, while also being someone they have fun with! My hope is to help you build the “village” that modern society has so drastically pulled us away from.

My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with 2 special needs kids in a group care setting — I enjoyed carving out time for one on one learning. I don’t have specific special needs training, however I pride myself in my patience, compassion, and love to all children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are so many funny and endearing moments, but the one closest to my heart is when I had a family emergency and they showed up for me and offered support in the same ways I do for them when they are dealing with uncomfortable emotions. Truly a full circle moment.

Hello,
I'm a recent college graduate who is planning on attending Columbia University for my masters in School Psychology in the fall. I have over five years of experience working with children both as a nanny and running summer camps. I like to spend time outside, read, and do crafts.
I believe in working to make children feel safe while also ensuring they have fun and try new things. As a nanny I'm committed to creating a space for children to learn new skills and have engaging experiences. I have experience working with a large range of ages but am most versed in children aged 3-10.

I'm originally from Mount Shasta, CA, but I'm here in Santa Cruz for school, and I'm hoping to establish connections so that I could live here permanently. Growing up as the oldest in a big family, I have always been involved in childcare to a certain degree, and I've also spent years providing my services for others! I would love to incorporate childcare into my future career, as it has always been something I've immensely enjoyed. Overall, caring for children has always been a passion of mine, and it remains to this day something I can't wait to pursue further.

Hi my name is Jessica! I am 23 and am a UCSB graduate in Ecology. My favorite job was in the Chemistry department, where I worked as a coordinator for a outreach program for 5th graders. I love how curious kids are, and how they ask so many questions!
I have been watching my little cousins and family friend’s children my entire life. I would love to be able to teach a child some garden skills and spark their curiosity about the natural world!
