A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Grace Kilgore, and I am from Portland, Oregon! I attend the University of Oregon in Eugene from late September until mid-June, where I study psychology and sociology as a sophomore. I am 21 years old, and I have been nannying/babysitting since I was 13. I have always loved children and connected with them easily, which is what I think makes me a great nanny! I love the outdoors and crafts, and some of my hobbies include golfing, playing volleyball, hanging out with my friends, and being a part of my community and sorority! I have also had a broad range of jobs, such as a sushi chef, a golf instructor for children, a nanny/sitter, a dog sitter, and I have worked as a receptionist and assistant at an urgent care, a retail associate at Hollister, a chef at a pizza place, a summer camp counselor, etc. I love to get all kinds of experience, but my favorite work will always be with kids! I am very outgoing and would love to help out your family as your nanny this summer!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a nanny, babysitter, and overnight sitter for 7 years now. I have also been a summer camp counselor, where I worked with over 30 children at a time alone, and I have been a golf instructor for kids as well!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going on walks, arts and crafts such as painting, sidewalk chalk, coloring, etc. I also love to take the kids to parks and be outside as much as possible in the summer or on warm days! My favorite activity as a nanny is playing Chopped with the kids and having them/us make fun and easy foods together! They love it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important thing about being a nanny is the children's safety as well as their happiness. I always strive to have the children in the safest parks, social outings, etc, and I still ensure they are having a fulfilling and fun day with me each day I am with them! It is so important to me that the kids are never bored or unsafe, so I like to incorporate very safe and stimulating activities!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with special needs children with autism, I have worked with two families with children who experience autism, and I also have a brother who has it! I enjoy working with children with special needs, and I find that I do well with them due to my experience. I can accommodate their needs and wants!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was 18, and I was leaving for college. I had to say goodbye to the kids I had been nannying for during the school year, and they made me handmade drawings of us together, and their parents framed them for me. It was so special, and I still have them hanging in my college apartment.
