Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve been a nanny for almost 4/5 years for a family who had 5 children, infant twins and 5, 7 and 9 year old! I’m now nannying for a family who has a 1 year old and a 2.5 year old! I’ve volunteered at a children’s hospital in the Child Life department wanting to become a Child Life specialist in the future! I’ve also interned at an Autism Center for a college class! Lastly ive worked at a Gymnastics gym as a gymnastics coach for 3/4 years learning about child development skills of all ages!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Doing Art crafts! Coloring, Making Slime, reading, watching Disney movies, playing with stickers, hitting baseballs, swinging, going on walks, playing at a park, playing at a water park! Playing with water balloons, swimming, playing soccer, doing gymnastics.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with the children and the family. Which means creating a safe, nurturing environment where the children feel secured, supported and encouraged but also loved. I want them to have fun but also learn from me and being someone they feel safe with 24/7.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve Interned at an Autism Center for my psychology degree! I watched their schedules every day learning how their developmental delays affect them on a daily basis. I also watched how they cope with certain things that stress them out. I also saw how they grew and got so much better at reading, playing and talking every day for 5 months.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Bringing over Christmas presents for the kids to open and they played with them the whole day I was there! It was too precious! Or taking the different family to the water park! They loved it!
